about how it works.
Plinko is a physics-powered note generator. Balls fall from the top of the canvas, bounce off the lines you draw, and every collision fires a note, so gravity plays the melody for you.
Sketch lines, curves, and shapes anywhere on the playfield, then drop the balls and watch them ricochet into melodies, basslines, and arps in real time. Reshape the geometry and the music changes right along with it.
It locks to your key and snaps to your tempo, so everything it generates stays in tune and in time. Part happy accident, part playable instrument, it’s the fastest way to stumble into a melodic idea you’d never have thought of.
Draw your playfield with lines, curves, and deflectors, then release the balls from the top of the canvas. Every time a ball strikes a line, Plinko fires a note.
Pick a key and scale and sync to your DAW’s tempo, and every collision lands in tune and on the grid. The notes stream out as MIDI you can drag straight into your piano roll.
Use special line types like phaser, chorus, and spring deflectors to add motion and character on contact. Small tweaks to the geometry send the whole pattern somewhere new.
It’s fast, satisfying, and one of those tools that sparks new ideas the second you start dropping balls into it.
